Executive Vice President

As the Executive Vice President, Joe Barton Jr works alongside his father to oversee the full operations of NRS.  Junior started his career at the family business back in 1994, by helping repair damaged trailers and filing paperwork. Knowledgeable in all areas of the operation, Junior is able to jump in anywhere as needed. Previously the VP of Operations, Junior was promoted to the role of Executive Vice President in 2020. Junior is looking to help mold and guide NRS into the future.

Vice President of Operations

As the Vice President of Operations for NRS, Darren handles the day-to-day operations of the business. This includes all areas of Dispatch, Drivers, Safety, and Maintenance. When Darren started his career at NRS back in 1998 as the night shift Dispatcher, the company operated with only 4 power units. Darren was quickly exposed to all aspects of the trucking industry, developing a tenacious work ethic to serve the drivers & customers at a high level. This work ethic leads to his promotion as the VP of Operations back in 2015.  Darren has helped diversify the customer portfolio and continued fleet growth to today, with the capacity for over 250 powered units. As the longest-tenured employee, Darren is a wealth of knowledge on all things NRS.

As the Controller for Nationwide Rail Service, Inc (NRS) Brad Rawlings provides strategic insight and valuable input on all financial matters. Brad joined the NRS Management Team in 2018 and has played an intricate role in the growth of the company through strategic planning and sound financial discipline. While playing an intricate role internally, Brad has proven to be a great asset externally as well, building on the solid and lasting relationships with our external partners. Prior to joining NRS in 2018, Brad held a role as a Vice-President Commercial Banker at a financial firm, where he personally worked closely with NRS for 6 years. Brad has brought over 20+ years of business management, sales, and financial acumen to the NRS team.

Operations Director

As the Operations Director, Louis is responsible for the intermodal logistics and movement of our customer's freight to and from all rail yards throughout Chicagoland. Louis oversees our team of drivers, dispatchers, and rail billers for the company. Louis brings to the NRS team, 23+ years in the industry including time as a dock worker, spotter, driver, heavy machine operator, Dispatcher, Supervisor, and Manager. Louis is vital in the strategic planning and many times the face of the operation for our customers.

Safety Manager & Recruiter

As the Safety Manager, John oversees the safety and well-being of our drivers, dispatchers, and shop personnel. John has worked for NRS since 2015 when he joined as a company driver. John was promoted to his current role as the Safety Manager in 2019.  John holds his NATMI certification as a Certified Safety Supervisor. John has been tasked with leading NRS into a new era of safety first, that has never been compromised and stands above all.

John also has the responsibility as the Recruiter for the company. John is the point person on finding and onboarding the talented and high-quality drivers that NRS is known for in Chicagoland. His 15+ years of experience as a driver, allows John to quickly assess if a potential driver has what it takes to be successful at NRS.

Greg-Huda

Greg Huda

Office Manager and HR Specialist

As the Office Manager and HR Specialist, Greg oversees the maintenance of all employee personnel files, PTO calendars, quarterly fuel tax reporting, ELD record-keeping, and yearly compliant records.  He also manages the FMCSA records of all NRS Drivers.  Greg works with John Peterson during the onboarding and orientation process for all new NRS employees.  Greg came to NRS in 2014 after retiring from a successful 44-year career at Jewel/Osco.  Greg has brought his experience and knowledge in personnel management and detailed record-keeping to NRS.
